Young Thug has officially received his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with his long-awaited debut studio project, So Much Fun.
The set of 19-tracks earned an equivalent 131,000 album unit sales last week, with 5,000 being from traditional album sales. The album generated nearly 168 million on-demand audio streams in its first week. That’s the fifth-largest debut week of 2019, following Ariana Grande’s thank u, next (debuting at 307.1 million streams and producing 168.6 million streams the week after), Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? (194 million streams), and Juice WRLD’s Death Race For Love (176.4 million streams).
So Much Fun is Thugger’s eighth consecutive top 40-charting album and fifth top 10 offering. Rounding out the top three is Lionel Richie’s latest live album, Hello From Las Vegas, accumulating 65,000 equivalent album units, and Quality Control Music’s 36-track compilation album, Quality Control: Control the Streets Volume 2 with 63,000 equivalent album units earned.
