After dropping his debut studio album Everythings for Sale last week, Compton-based rapper Boogie has returned with an introspective new visual for his J.I.D.-featured track, “Soho.”
In varying interviews leading up to the album, Boogie noted that the project would be much more introspective, looking inwards at himself and his career, with him trying to face his problems head on. The new music video for “Soho” lives up to what we expected based on the words shared, with him and J.I.D. cycling through various faces and identities in the new visual.
In just a little over two minutes, Boogie manages to spoof the outfits of other rappers through morphing his facial image from human to skin-pulling grotesque. J.I.D. similarly raps with a heavily-bandaged face, speaking on dreams of being signed to Death Row Records. By the end of the short video, Boogie finds himself as a ventriloquist’s doll.
