In commemoration of the franchise’s 20th anniversary, Toei Animation has revealed the trailer for the final film in the original Digimon series. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, revealed during this year’s Anime Expo, follows the Digi-Destined from the original series who are now in the 20s.
The footage above teases protagonists Tai and Agumon’s final adventure together as Tai’s updated Digivice begins to countdown, signaling an unknown enemy. This enemy is speculated to be breaking through to the real world from the digital world. The film’s poster also showcases its tagline, which roughly translates to "We will always be together," and "We walk together with Digimon, toward all the ‘children’."
Designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, who worked on the original series, will return for the project alongside Kenji Watanabe, who is also veteran of the franchise. The voice cast from the Digimon Adventure films will also return to voice their respective characters.
Check out the visuals and catch Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna February 21, 2020, in Japan.
