Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened on Saturday in St George’s Chapel in an intimate and private ceremony, attended by close family and friends.
The Archbishop of Canterbury christened the newborn, and while their god parent choices have not been made public, the royal couple did release a series of official portraits, revealing the guestlist.
‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to share the happiness of this day, and would like to thank everyone around the world for their ongoing support,’ the couple announced via their Sussex Royal Instagram account. ‘They feel so fortunate to have enjoyed this special moment with family and Archie’s godparents.’

But while the most noticeable absence was the Queen, who was busy due to prior commitments, the loudest absence came from Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, who unsurprisingly released a statement on the matter.
‘I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened,’ he announced via the Daily Mail. ‘I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen’s church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, so of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing, wishing Archie and his parents health and happiness.’
The royal family have yet to respond.
