Game of Thrones has returned for the eighth and final series EVER *sob*, but ever since the HBO first hit our screens in 2011 Maisie Williams has been struggling with one character trait. Who knew?
The 22-year-old actress, who plays Arya Stark in the hit medieval programme, has been in the show since the age of 12, but she has been harbouring a major secret.
The star was desperate to give an accurate depiction of her character from the books, which meant she tried to be left handed on camera, although she is actually right handed.
But the star has insisted it was a big mistake.
Speaking to Vogue Online, she said: ‘When I was 12, I thought it was a great idea to play Arya left-handed because she favours that side in the books.
‘Eight years later, and I’m still paying for that mistake. I had to keep it up for continuity. In the beginning, I just had to do a little sparring. Now, I’m doing entire fight sequences with the wrong hand, and I’m like, “Why did I ever think this was a good idea?”‘
Although Maisie has found it difficult filming fighting scenes with her left hand she has loved every minute of working with the cast, and one person in particular – Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark.
She continued: ‘Just working with Sophie. She makes me laugh until I actually cannot breathe. All the way through shooting, we’ve clung to each other, and our friendship has just gotten better and better as we’ve gotten older.’
Sophie has also gushed about Maisie.
