I’ve recently come back from LA (not a brag, there is a purpose I promise), and trying tasty brunch places aside, my favourite thing to do there is discovering where all the cool Cali girls are shopping.
Which is how I came upon The Dreslyn, which you might or might not know about already, since it’s already garnered a cool 135k strong following on Instagram.
It’s not a bricks and mortar store, but a carefully curated online store which reflects that minimalist and trans-seasonal aesthetic loads of us secretly aspire to. And whilst the brand is based in LA, it does a global customer base – and the good news is it ships to the UK too.
The Dreslyn was founded by husband-and-wife team Daniel and Brooke Corcia five years ago, with the aim to represent West Coast fashion in a very narrow edit.
Brooke explains, ‘Our whole philosophy is not to be everything to everyone, we try to be inclusive but we’re speaking to a certain type of woman who knows who she is, knows her style and is looking for something she can live in and wear, but who wants to touch on trends and be current and modern but not necessarily chase them. Women dressing for women. ‘
Contemporary brands you can include ATP Atelier, Rejina Pyo and Totême to name a few, and for each one you’re able to shop a minimal collection of 10-15 products, because the Corcias found that’s what works with their customers (‘The more we can focus, the easier it is. No one wants to scroll through eight pages to find a shirt’).
And it works, since 60% of their customers have placed several orders with them, with some shopping a dozen times a year.
And in case you’re after copying that LA style, here are the best-selling items for the season so far:
