Batman‘s butler Alfred is getting his own 10-episode hour-long drama series called Pennyworth, which will showcase his life before becoming the "man in the chair" for Bruce Wayne. It turns out, a lot of his life was like James Bond‘s.
In the visuals above, we see a young Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon) meeting young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge) in London during the 1960s. Once the pair fall into a huge criminal conspiracy, Alfred becomes Wayne’s security in order to keep him safe from retaliation. Rarely do we ever see Alfred or look into his history in television or film, but in the comics, he’s been known to be a former British SAS soldier and has been seen serving as a technician in the field.
Pennyworth hits July 28 at 9 pm EST on Epix.
In other entertainment news, a reboot of The Boondocks is underway.
Epix has released a new Pennyworth trailer along with a poster showing off the series.https://t.co/zZ4FwN8xkR
