New Balance silhouettes have had somewhat of a resurgence in recent years as the normcore and dad sneaker trend blew up in 2018. However, unlike New Balance’s chunkier 90s runners, the new MS997 adopts a fresh, minimalist design language upon a layered chunky sole.
Initially releasing in two colorways, one in Grey and the other in Black, you can find a mix of tonal soft leather and buttery suede accented by tumbled leather detailing. The metallic contrasting eyelets and New Balance branding, debossed logo on the tongue tab, leather insoles and a muted color-blocked sole set off the tonal hues for this premium-feel updated runner.
You can expect both colorways to drop on February 9 at New Balance and select retailers, priced at $150 USD (£115 GBP).
