Last weekend marked the 2019 BAFTAs, with a host of A-listers and royalty taking to the Royal Albert Hall red carpet.
But it wasn’t Glenn Close in McQueen or Amy Adams in Prada that stole the attention, instead it was the presence of royalty, with the red carpet quite literally shut down when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge entered the ceremony.
And inside the event, the admiration for the royals grew ever bigger.
That’s right. It wasn’t Bradley Cooper’s tribute to Irina Shayk or Lady Gaga’s heartfelt social media statement that caused the most excitement, it was Kate and Wills finding their seats, with the royals making a grand entrance after everyone else.
And while A-listers seemed absolutely entranced by the royal couple, with Claire Foy’s reaction becoming a viral meme, it seems that the royals found all the attention a little embarrassing, joking about it being awkward.
