Drone Racing League‘s new season premieres on NBC next week, and as such, the league has made the DRL Racer4 drone in its new season available for pre-order. The new DRL Racer4 Street is a "true, field-ready version of the DRL Racer4 drone" that possesses 1,000 LED lights, a carbon-fiber canopy, and the ability to go from zero to 90mph in under a second.
It has been launched as a Kickstarter project and will have a revamped electronics system that supports plug-and-play parts for easy fixes, without compromising the machine’s power configuration. "After many (many) requests to purchase a Racer3, we made sure to answer the demand with the ‘Street Version’ of our next-generation drone," the project’s description reads.
The DRL Racer4 drone is available in the U.S. only, and customers must pledge $599 USD to earn the drone as a reward on Kickstarter.
In other tech news, US federal agencies are now banned from buying Huawei tech.
