Last September, singer and actor Donald Glover and adidas Originals announced their partnership, and not much has been revealed since then — until now. Jemuel Wong, an avid adidas enthusiast, has just posted images of Childish Gambino‘s first collaboration with the Three Stripes. The sneaker seems to be based on the 70’s-inspired Nizza silhouette, a physical materialization of the shoes first revealed in an animated short published by adidas Originals when they announced the partnership.
The Nizza-like shoe features a distressed canvas upper, with black and white striped canvas laces. Metal eyelets run up the throat, with a ridged rubber toe bumper up front and a leather heel pull tab at the back. The signature Three Stripes run along the midfoot in a clean white against the off-white canvas.
There’s no official release information for Childish Gambino’s sneaker yet, so stay tuned for more details as they come in. The announcement of the collaboration also included not just sneakers but apparel, so fans of Donald Glover should be sure to keep an eye out for those too.
