A few hours ago, the news of Karl Lagerfeld’s death shook both the music and fashion worlds. The iconic designer, who passed at the age of 85, was a pillar of haute couture having been the Artistic director of Fendi since 1965 and Chanel since 1983. On top of that, Uncle Karl led his own eponymous label simultaneously.
In January, Lagerfeld missed his first ever Chanel show, where he would always come out for a final bow, leaving many in the industry worried. He passed away Tuesday morning after being admitted to hospital in Paris the night before.
Below are more industry heavyweights, including Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh, Supreme, Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Jacquemus, Takashi Murakami, among others, that have given their condolences to Lagerfeld. Both Chanel and Fendi have also given out official statements on his death.

Karl Lagerfeld vient de nous quitter… ?
Avec lui, l’époque du glamour, de l’extravagance tire sa révérence.
Ce génie absolu de la mode laisse un gigantesque vide.
Je suis tellement triste… J’ai eu le privilège de le connaître personnellement
