Stranger Things 3: The Game is coming, and first glances of the sci-fi horror franchises’ game see an ’80s-themed adventure game coincide with the release of the series third season.
With the option to play as one of 12 characters, both new and old, Stranger Things 3: The Game is a fittingly retro 16-bit battle game that has you fight through scenes from the series, including the Starcourt Mall. The game will initially release on the Nintendo Switch, encouraging real-life co-op gameplay, where you and your teammates will have to figure out puzzles, clues and fight your way to the end.
Stranger Things 3: The Game follows themes of the show throughout, from eerie woods to abandoned laboratories. The further you progress in the game, the more characters you can unlock, and you can then switch between the roster of characters in real-time gameplay to benefit from each characters’ unique skill set.
The game will be releasing on July 4 alongside Stranger Things 3.
In other gaming news, the rumours around the disc-less Xbox One S are growing, with speculation slating an April release.
