It’s going to be called Small Town, naturally
Silver Lake’s closed Wolfdown space is getting new life as an approachable neighborhood restaurant, and it’ll carry an apt new name as well: Small Town.
Forage owners Jason and Chrissy Kim are still in charge of the Rowena Avenue space and say they won’t be functionally changing its look much. But that’s about where the similarities to the past will end. Instead of Wolfdown’s Korean-leaning dinner menu, Small Town will hew towards slightly upturned everyday basics across dinner and brunch, to start. That means soft scrambled eggs with trout roe, or coconut black rice and roasted sweet potato. There will still be beer and wine, with Chrissy Kim focusing on plenty of natural and biodynamic options.
There’s no complete menu ready just yet, but the Kims tell Eater that they’re hoping to open on Tuesday, March 5, at least for walk-in diners. From there, expect hours from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. every night (closed Mondays), with a happy hour from opening until 7 p.m. Weekend brunches will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
