FlyingTee, a golf and entertainment company, will build a 70,000-square-foot facility at a sprawling new mixed-use development in Carson called The Creek at Dominguez Hills.
Plenitude Holdings LLC, a real estate investment partnership between Blanchard Entities and Shopoff Realty Investments, announced the deal with FlyingTee, according to the real estate news site Connect California. FlyTee will be the 87-acre development’s first retail tenant, and the company’s flagship, according to the report.
FlyingTee will feature event spaces, golf-hitting bays, virtual golfing, live music entertainment, a restaurant, and a sports viewing space. It’s slated to open in late 2020.
The larger development is located at 340 Martin Luther King Jr. Street. It will include space for sports, recreation and entertainment, with more than 500,000 square feet of retail and recreation space. Plenitude Holdings is seeking additional tenants, including restaurants, health and wellness uses, and family entertainment.
The massive project’s centerpiece will be a 199,000-square-foot multi-use indoor sports complex for basketball and volleyball, along with indoor turf training areas and a mezzanine level. It will also include more than eight acres of open space, including a jogging path, a 6.6-acre community park, a zipline and ropes course, and a clubhouse with a rooftop deck.
The Creek at Dominguez Hills is one of several megaprojects underway in Los Angeles. Others include the 300-acre project at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, which calls for a 70,000-seat NFL stadium, a 6,000-seat entertainment venue, and 200,000 square feet of office space; and the $1.2-billion renovation of the L.A. Convention Center by Anschutz Entertainment Group.
Capri Capital Partners is also working on a $750-million overhaul of the 43-acre site at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. That project includes 961 condos and apartments, a 400-key hotel, a 10-story office building and 300,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
