Forget the Meghan Markle effect, these days it’s all about the Fleabag effect. Believe it or not, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s flawed Londoner has become an unlikely source of sartorial inspiration, causing items to sell out after appearing on the show.
Take the now iconic black jumpsuit that Phoebe wore in the opening episode of season two, which is being re-stocked as I type thanks to high demand.
Now fashion aggregation site Lyst.co.uk has revealed that red dresses have been flying off the virtual shelves, after the (unnamed) main character wears a little floral number to her dad’s wedding in the season finale.
The site reports that searches for red dresses are up 38% over the past couple of weeks, since the end of the show.
Meanwhile, searches for black jumpsuits have gone up by a massive 61%, and the most viewed brands are Asos and Topshop.
