Though sacai‘s forthcoming Nike redux will likely steal the seasonal spotlight, the Japanese brand has more special seasonal drops. Though collaborative sunglasses are more common in the warmer months, sacai has prepped a unique array of Native Sons frames for Fall/Winter 2019, elevating classic silhouettes with premium details.
sacai and Native Sons co-founder Tommy O’Gara partnered for top-shelf sunglasses, available with or without clip-on lenses, which can naturally be removed for low-light situations. Three distinct unisex silhouettes – square, round and cat-eye — are on hand, each offered in three colors, combining unfamiliar elements for off-kilter results. For instance, a tortoiseshell frame is executed in clear blue, rather than the usual honey yellow tones.
Expect sacai stores and Native Sons stockists in Japan to receive the collection on August, with an international rollout planned for late September. Clip-on styles retail for ¥58,000 JPY (approximately $550 USD) with the accessory-free models weighing in at ¥38,000 JPY (approximately $360 USD). Take a closer look at the handcrafted styles in sacai’s video below.
Elsewhere, sacai’s Chitose Abe designed a bespoke Nike Tennis outfit for Naomi Osaka.
