Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Monday May 6.
Following the exciting news, the royal family decided to introduce Prince Archie into the royal family by creating a page of his own on their official website royal.uk.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing, as the new page had a major error.
It read: ‘first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’, meaning Kate Middleton and Prince William – Archie’s aunt and uncle. But the post was meant to read The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child.
The mistake did not go unnoticed by eagle eyed fans.
One tweeted: ‘It was a pretty bad mistake. They had one job.’
Another vented: ‘Im sorry how do you “accidentally” introduce #MeganMarkle and #PrinceHarry sons as the wrong baby.’
A third added: ‘That person is getting fired’, another added: ’embarrassing that the royal family’s own website congratulated the duke and duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their first child!’
But others passed the error off as an easy mistake to happen.
A separate social media user tweeted: ‘I think I speak for all of us who have been working on the Baby Sussex Story when I say that mistakes happen to the best of us when we’re tired!’
The mistake has since been edited with the correct names.
