Los Angeles-based label ROKIT returns for Fall/Winter 2019 with its "Product of True Stories" collection. ROKIT draws influences from basketball and skateboarding for its collections, and this season, the West Coast company looks to youth culture to create pieces such as the Mixtape Set and Melter Jacket.
ROKIT FW19 references the "endless hours of watching and re-watching our favorite skate films and basketball mixtapes from back in the day" and everything from "attempting tricks we never thought possible to a newfound passion for hooping on the streets." As a result, ROKIT channels an air of nostalgia that combines retro tropes such as bold neon hues and faded varsity logos alongside a modern perspective of providing a true story.
In order to provide a true story, ROKIT keeps its FW19 collection humble and fuss-free. Pieces such as the aforementioned "Dropout" varsity T-shirt feature a split graphic, while the Lava jersey deliveries colors and patterns reminiscent of ’90s and 2000s sports teams. Standout items include the "Cataclysm" Infinite Sound T-shirt, which sports a blazing forest graphic, as well as the selection of split-seam hoodies.
