As the "First Lady" of Oakland rap heroes ALLBLACK and Offset Jim’s rising PRA record label and collective, 24-year-old San Francisco native Carrie. is aiming to capture the public’s attention and make her mark with the release of her debut studio project and EP, Pharmakon. Set to hit streaming services and similar platforms later this week, Carrie.’s Pharmakon EP is billed as a blend of "lo-fi bedroom R&B sadgasms" and "post-sex shame anthems," with its entire recording and writing process coming straight from Carrie.’s own personal room. Now, further supporting and promoting the aforementioned release, Carrie. is sharing a new music video for Pharmakon‘s lead single, "Kill Me." Directed by Brandon Brady, the visual for "Kill Me" is also being paired with the Pharmakon cut "Best Actress."
"As I started writing music, heartbreak and dependency on another person were always at the tip of my tongue," Carrie. shares with us, breaking down the narrative and theme of "Best Actress / Kill Me." "At the time, I was finding myself through my relationships and realizing a person can become synonymous for medicine, poison, or both depending on my mental. The video is a death wish through substance abuse."
