Late last year, a "Memphis Tigers"-themed Foamposite surfaced, complete with tiger stripes and a bi-color makeup. Though no release info was provided at the time, Tigers coach Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and his team were spotted wearing the special Nikes on-court — finally, the sneaker giant has prepared a wider release for the thematic sneakers.
Black-and-blue detailing informs the upper of the ball-ready silhouette, matching the blue hue of the Tigers’ jerseys. White laces offer a bright contrast against the dark, bi-color upper, with the same blue tone accenting the rear Penny logo. A black outsole grounds the design, which is clearly patterned to recall tiger stripes, in line with the Tigers’ mascot and namesake.
The Nike Air Foamposite One PE "Memphis Tigers" drops on March 9 as a Quickstrike — keep an eye on Nike’s site and SNKRS app for more information, including the price.
Most recently, Nike re-launched the classic Air Foamposite One Premium “Doernbecher.”
