With football season well underway, Nike and Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr. have unveiled the new Mercurial Vapor 360 "Speed Freak."
Marking the first signature Mercurial design of the 2019/20 season for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, the football boot takes on a motorsport-inspired design while being embellished with designs that hold a personal meaning for Neymar. A black-and-chrome checkered-flag print wraps around the middle portion of the boot’s upper, while red takes on the underfoot and medial side. The former pays tribute to Neymar’s buddy Lewis Hamilton, while the latter is an homage to Brazil’s legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna.
Additionally, Neymar-related symbols linking back to his previous signature Mercurials are scattered throughout such as the number "10" worn for the Brazilian national team, "Alegria" text, the "Sonho Dourado" Golden Dream of his first signature Hypervenom, his roman numeral "IV" tattoo for his family and the Rihanna-inspired "Shhhh." Finally, the "Just Do It" and "Merc" branding have been removed, while the Swoosh insignias reign free.
Interested fans can purchase Neymar Jr.’s tenth Mercurial Vapor 360 outing when it arrives at select Nike retailers and nike.com starting August 29.
Earlier this month, Paris Saint-Germain rejected Barcelona and Real Madrid bids for Neymar Jr.
