A trailer for Netflix’s The Laundromat has landed. Helmed by Ocean’s trilogy director Steven Soderbergh, the biographical comedy-drama film is based on Jake Bernstein’s book Secrecy World: Inside the Panama Papers Investigation of Illicit Money Networks and the Global Elite and stars Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas:
"The film follows Ellen Martin (Streep), whose dream vacation takes a wrong turn and leads her down a rabbit hole of shady dealings that can all be traced to one Panama City law firm, run by seductive partners Jürgen Mossack (Oldman) and Ramón Fonseca (Banderas). She soon learns that her minor predicament is only a drop in the bucket of millions of files linking an off-shore tax scheme to the world’s richest and most powerful political leaders."
Additionally, the flick’s supporting cast features a number of high-profile actors including Sharon Stone, David Schwimmer, Will Forte, Jeffrey Wright and Robert Patrick.
