My Style Is Simple, and These Are My Favorite Boot Trends for Fall

It’s me again! Your unofficial, self-proclaimed simple-style expert here to share more finds that I think are perfect for anyone who (like me) loves to wear basics but not look basic. Seeing as we are kind of on the heels of sweater weather and—drumroll, please—boot season, I figured it was about time I weighed in on the fall boot styles I’m into for the months ahead. After all, in a sea of trends, sometimes it can be hard to single out those which are truly right for you, so that’s what I’m here for. From the animal print–inspired pairs that are leading the pack to the simple updates that make a silhouette feel current, just keep scrolling to see, read about, and shop the five F/W 19 boot trends I’ll be backing when the time comes.

Snake print is one of the more current-feeling and understated animal-print trends that will be thriving in the season ahead, and I’m all for it. Somehow, it acts like a neutral, so you can truly pair it with anything without feeling like it’s too much.

As with all other types of embellished shoes, I was elated over this trend’s presence on the F/W runways. This may sound counterintuitive, but statement shoes are perfect for simple style. Why? Because they’re less likely to conflict with the other pieces you’re wearing and will instantly elevate your outfits.

Even when I’m wearing the simplest black boots, it’s really important to me that they feel current. This season, the way to achieve that is undoubtedly via a square-toe shape, and I’m pretty into it! The best thing about the trend is that designers are offering them at all levels, from understated to ultra-exaggerated, so you can really choose what feels the most you and still look on trend.

One of the subtler trends I’ve come across for the season ahead is the Victorian-inspired, lace-up boot. Style them with jeans, midi dresses, or miniskirts, and you can’t go wrong.

Whether you go short or tall, croc-embossed boots are the easiest way to add instant polish to any outfit. No matter how much you actually paid for them, they always look expensive, and I’ve actually found that they are more durable than plain-leather and suede pairs.
