Mozzy continues to crank out new, standalone singles. Directly following this month’s delivery of "Bail Bond" with Gunplay and his standout appearance on fellow northern California star P-Lo’s "Don’t Think" record, Mozzy teams up with NoCap for his latest major track, "Sad Situations."
"I done came up, real n***a I remain one, won’t bring your name up / Big ol’ B’s, bitch I’m flamed up, I throw my gang up / I done finally got my weight up, all these nights we stayed up / This that shit that niggas prayed for, thank you for praying on me," Mozzy croons on "Sad Situations." "Damn, I lost my n**’ when was kids, that shit weighing on me / I was vouching for your gangster while you take the stand on ’em / No amounts though they ain’t flip it, these n***as be playing wodie."
"I create music for myself, shit that I can throw in the deck and vibe out to and cry to and smoke my dope to and enjoy my life to,” Mozzy previously explained to The Atlantic, opening up about the process that births lyrics like those contained in his verses on "Sad Situations." "My music based on reality, soulful, very touching, gang-related, heart-felt, full of consequences. It’s just the lifestyle we live. I try not to glorify it, I give you the good, bad, and ugly."
