For the majority of his spring and summer run, Lil Baby has spent most of his creative energy on collaborating with other artists; the past month alone has yielded new music with Gucci Mane, Stefflon Don, Lil Gotit and more. Now, reconnecting with SAINt JHN, Lil Baby is revisiting another high-profile collaboration from this year: "Trap."
Originally released in February, "Trap" features production from F a l l en and serves as the lead single for SAINt JHN’s Ghetto Lenny Love Songs album, which hit streaming services last month.
"I make music that I want to hear," SAINt JHN told Billboard last year, opening up about the artistic motivations that give birth to songs like "Trap." "If someone made the music I wanted to hear, I probably wouldn’t be doing music. If there was someone to cover the spectrum of all of the things I wanted to hear, then I would have nothing to contribute to the conversation. I’m the artist I want to see on stage and perform. Not because it’s me, but because I’m doing it the way I would want to see it done."
"Think of this: If me and a stripper got married, you’d have to play this at our wedding reception, the whole collection," JHN added during a March sitdown with Fuse, sharing his own description of Ghetto Lenny Love Songs. "You’re gonna’ like it, I hope so."
