The Grammys are set to take place this weekend, and following Ariana Grande calling off her performance at this year’s show, reports have emerged that Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar and Drake have all declined offers to perform as well.
It comes to no surprise as in recent years, the Grammys has vastly deteriorated with a number of problems including race, gender, unpopular decisions on nominations and more. The show has found it increasingly hard to stay culturally relevant especially as in previous years, popular artists have not received the more distinguished and posthumous awards which has had fans voice their disapproval.
With Kendrick, Drake and Childish Gambino nominated for awards such as Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Song Of The Year, Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich reached out to the individuals to offer performance slots, but they all declined and didn’t even confirm whether they would attend the show. There will still be performances however, including artists such as Travis Scott, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa and more.
Even if you won’t be watching The Grammys, there’s much more to look forward to, including Gunna’s Drip or Drown 2 set to drop on February 22.
