Conservatives may love to call out “Hollywood leftists”–but there are a few celebs who really like Trump. Earlier this week, Jon Voight released a video on social media in which he reiterated his long-standing support for the man he describes as the “greatest president since Lincoln.” Voight isn’t the only MAGA celeb around, though; we found a small handful of celebrity Trump supporters.
Jon Voight
One of the most outspoken conservatives actively working in Hollywood, Jon Voight is a big supporter of President Trump. In his most recent missive, the Ray Donovan actor decried the “hate among the radical left,” and insisted that Trump isn’t racist. The president thanked him for his support in a Tuesday morning Twitter post. Voight’s support of Trump has been unwavering in spite of the president’s strange criticisms of Voight’s own daughter, Angelina Jolie, whom Trump deems insufficiently attractive.
Kid Rock
Trump golfing buddy Kid Rock is a true MAGA man. The musician–and erstwhile political candidate himself–loves American flags and hates “political correctness” and “ghetto glorifiers.” His stance on gay marriage is arguably more liberal(ish), saying in a 2015 interview with The Guardian, “As an ordained minister, I don’t look forward to marrying gay people, but I’m not opposed to it.” Rock made news recently with a Tweet which, while it didn’t specifically mention Trump, did criticize Taylor Swift for coming out in support of the Democratic candidates for 2020.
Stacey Dash
While her 2018 campaign to represent South Los Angeles in Congress didn’t work out quite as she might have planned, Stacey Dash has continued working hard to get her conservative, pro-Trump message out. Best-known as “Dionne” from Clueless, Dash is currently working to launch a new social media platform where right-wing rhetoric can be shared without “censorship.” Her Instagram presence is heavy on guns and Bible verses.
Kelsey Grammer
Kelsey Grammer is currently wrapping up production on a mini-series, You’re Not a Monster, and has been hinting lately about a reboot of his iconic sitcom Frasier, but it might be his political views that earn him the most ink. He’s strongly pro-Trump (and pro-Brexit, for that matter) and isn’t fully convinced about climate change science, either.
James Woods
Oscar-winning actor James Woods was already a prominent entertainment industry Republican before the Trump era–he even claims he was “blacklisted” by people who didn’t want to work with him after he publicly criticized President Obama–but he’s a particularly avid supporter of Trump. The Spectator noticed in 2018 that Woods seems at least as enamored of Melania Trump as of her husband. In May, 2019, Woods was temporarily banned from Twitter for a political post with the “#HangThemAll” hashtag; his fans Donald Trump and Ted Cruz both publicly came out to advocate for his reinstatement.
Chuck Woolery
Love Connection host Chuck Woolery is not playing games when it comes to his politics. He’s dedicated his entire Twitter feed to espousing right-wing rhetoric, and co-hosts a podcast dedicated entirely to criticizing anything he perceives as liberal. His takes include that “abortion is not health care” and that “racism is the progressive left crying out for attention.”
Clint Eastwood
Remember the chair speech? Clint Eastwood does too, and he admits it was “silly,” but he’s still committed to the Republican cause. In an Esquire interview the former mayor of Carmel, California, spoke at length of his support for Trump, saying “he is onto something, because secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness.”
Kanye West
Oh, Kanye. While it’s been a while since West’s last public hang with President Trump, the top of his Twitter feed still shows a January post about his MAGA cap flap. “One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me what to do because I’m black,” it reads. In July, West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, reportedly contacted Trump directly to lobby the president to use his powers of state to help A$AP Rocky be released from a Swedish prison.
