Instagram-Friendly Monty’s Good Burger Adds Vegan Fare to Echo Park

Tahini shakes, plant-based burgers, and late night hours

Echo Park’s former Lot 1 Cafe has been swiftly transformed into a second location of Monty’s Good Burger, the hit vegan spot from co-founder Nic Adler and company. The powder blue corner restaurant right on Sunset, just east of Echo Park Boulevard, opened on Saturday.

Monty’s Good Burger has already achieved a sort of cult status among vegans and non-vegans alike, owing to its pop-ups at both the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals. Adler is affiliated with the food and drink lineups at both music festivals, hence Monty’s near-instant popularity here in LA. Monty’s in Koreatown outlet is busy from lunch through late night, though it takes up a small footprint.

In Echo Park, there’s plenty of space for dine-in and to-go diners. A front room offers some stools for seating and the ordering counter (as well as a merchandise area), while two small dining areas allow small groups to sit and dine.

The restaurant is now open daily starting at 11 a.m., and running until 11 p.m. most night,s and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. As for the food, this new location will offer the same menu as in Koreatown, but with the addition of a blueberry shake for those Dodger fans eager to catch a taste of some team-colored food before the next home game up the hill.
