March (and April, in many cases) are tricky seasons to navigate, wardrobe-wise. One day it could still feel like winter and the next it could feel like spring arrived overnight. Proof: Middleton stepped out in London today to visit the Scouts’ headquarters wearing a fittingly casual black-skinny-jeans outfit. With the jeans, she wore her favorite pair of See by Chloé combat boots with a J.Crew sweater, cargo jacket, simple silver hoops, and a striped scarf inspired by her stint as a Brownie (which we think is cute even if you weren’t a Girl Scout).

Since it’s a bit early to bust out your warm-weather pieces but you’re probably over the puffer jackets, try layering a sweater and light jacket with your skinny jeans and combat boots until shorts-and-sandals season arrives.
