Epic‘s massively popular battle royale game Fortnite just announced on Twitter yesterday that it will be collaborating with Jordan Brand. The announcement came first as a tweet with just four emojis: a goat, a basketball, a sneaker icon, and a red arrow. Fans of the franchise quickly speculated that the game would be teaming up with the Jordan Brand for some new content, and the rumor was confirmed by a subsequent tweet from Fortnite announcing that the collaboration will drop on May 22 with the game’s latest update.
Fortnite has built up somewhat of a reputation for well-received collaborations. In the sports field, the giant game had previously worked with NFL to celebrate last year’s Superbowl with new team uniform skins and a special game mode. Outside of sports, Epic boasts a hugely successful collaboration with Marvel over two successive years to promote Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, as well as a very recent partnership with John Wick in light of the newly released John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
While there’s not much more information right now on what the collaboration with the Jumpman will entail, such as skins or game modes, Epic often releases a full teaser right before the release date of its collaborative projects, so fans of the sneaker brand and Fortnite should definitely stay tuned for more updates when they surface.
And for more gaming news, Sony has just released more details regarding the next-gen PlayStation 5.
