In 1982 the first Rambo film, also known as First Blood, hit the big screen. Now 37 years later Sylvester Stallone returns as the former Vietnam veteran and highly skilled Green Beret to star in Rambo: Last Blood.
The first full-trailer for the latest chapter of the beloved franchise landed today and is packed with blood and action. Rambo must this time take on the Mexican cartel who have kidnapped his caretaker’s daughter, Gabriella. Most notably, the upcoming film will give fans a first look at Rambo at home, as well as showcase a different side to the disturbed hero.
"Rambo teams up with a journalist to track down and rescue a group of local girls that have been kidnapped by a Mexican sex trafficking ring, after trying to settle down to a quiet peaceful life stateside at the family ranch in Arizona after spending decades abroad," the film’s official synopsis states.
Having been planned since 2008, Last Blood will mark the fifth and final film of the Rambo saga. Stallone teased the trailer’s release date last week via a post on social media. The first four movies earned the franchise over $294 million USD domestically and $727 million USD worldwide.
Directed by Adrian Grunberg Rambo: Last Blood also stars Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Yvette Monreal and is slated to hit theaters September 20.
