Wimbledon 2019 is finally here, with the tournament world-renowned for royal appearances, tennis whites, the very best Pimms… oh and world class sport of course.
Come rain or shine (and we’re seriously hoping for the latter) the sporting event is not one to be missed, with this year already set to make history.
From Andy Murray and Serena Williams becoming mixed doubles partners to World number 313 Cori Gauff beating Venus Williams and progressing to the third round, everyone has been talking about Wimbledon 2019. But it was none of these things that got the world talking this week.
Instead it was Serena Williams’ tennis gear, with the player donning a Nike all-white minidress,
But there was more to the minidress than meets the eye, with eagle-eyed viewers spotting that it featured a ‘broosh’ – a brooch of the Nike swoosh logo.

This was no ordinary ‘broosh’ however, with it made from 34 Swarovski crystals, a nod to the age she was when she last won Wimbledon, at 34-years-old.
Serena is set to take to the court once more on Friday, to play her first mixed doubles match with Andy Murray.
‘The opportunity of playing with Serena, arguably she is one of the best players of all time and the biggest female athletes ever, is something I might never get another chance to do and potentially I might not play mixed doubles again,’ Andy explained in a recent interview. ‘If I am going to do it once, the chance to play with her is obviously brilliant and not something I expected to happen.’
We can’t wait to see them play together, but will Serena’s ‘broosh’ be making a return?
