In April, Netflix confirmed the second season of Dark would be returning in June to the delight of many fans.
Now the streaming network has released a full-length trailer giving ecstatic viewers a look at what’s to come in the new episodes; and it looks to be a lot creepier and even more supernatural than its first season. Coming in at just under two-minutes, the cryptic visuals see protagonist Jonas (Louis Hofmann) trying to fix the errors of his hometown of Winden (a small town in Germany) as he’s thrust into a dystopian future. The trailer even reveals the occult priest Noah (Mark Waschke), who is on a mission to manipulate the space/time realm to bring upon the apocalypse.
Additionally, Netflix confirmed season 2 will act as the second cycle of Jonas’ journey and the series will be divided into a trilogy. Dark season 3 is expected to release in 2020. Check out the trailer above and official synopsis below:
"When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town’s troubled history — whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986."
Shot and produced in Germany, this foreign gem of a series returns to Netflix on June 21. The original season made its 10-episode debut on December 1, 2017.
