Ever since its birth in 1994, American knife maker Columbia River Knife & Tool has gained wide and popular respect for its quality within both the military and civilian worlds. Constantly refining its art, the company has now launched a karambit — a notorious self-defense weapon — upgraded with the latest tech.
Equipped with Kinematic™ technology, CRKT’s new Provoke karambit takes a fixed blade design and revamps it with a mechanical system, allowing the blade to fold back into its body when the tool isn’t in use. Designed by Joe Caswell, the knife opens easily with a simple press of your thumb without the need to adjust your grip, and closes just as easily by pushing the back of the blade back towards the body. The frame is constructed with 6061 T6 aluminium, keeping it robust yet lightweight, measuring at only 6.1 oz. The 2.41-inch blade itself is made from D2 steel for exceptional edge robustness, and finished with a titanium nitride coating to prevent corrosion. The handle also comes equipped with an integrated pocket clip that sits almost flush with the body, raised easily by exerting pressure on the outer edge when needed. Whether you’re looking for a knife for your conceal carry setup or just a tool for EDC, the lightweight and compact design of the Provoke proves it to be a worthy companion whatever the situation.
The CRKT Provoke karambit is now available over at CRKT’s online store, retailing for $200 USD. For an extra $29.99 USD, it’ll also come with a dedicated sheath. Head over to CRKT’s site to learn more.
