Last month, Common released a new single and visual with Vince Staples and Swizz Beatz, "Hercules." Now, continuing to promote his upcoming Let Love LP, the Chicago icon is back with another new track off his next project, "Show Me That You Love." Notably, the aforementioned track features Jill Scott and Samora Pinderhughes and its visual component was put together by director Sade Clacken Joseph.
"When I became a parent, I thought that I would be the one teaching my daughter. Boy was I wrong!" Common shares via an official statement. "My daughter has become one of my favorite teachers along with LIFE. This is a special one."
"Art, storytelling, music, film, and television can shift the paradigm," Common told Billboard back in May, sharing some insight into his creative approach. "You have to do it in the fresh way — meaning the stories have to be good and engage people to make them connect with these characters."
"It ends up discussing these subject matters and people may not be aware of it, but they start connecting to it because of the story," Common adds. "I think one of the most important things we can do as artists is connect to each other’s humanity."
