Coach FW19 Updates '70s Nostalgia With Punk Attitude

Coach 1941 hit the New York Fashion Week runway with a slight twist to its favored ’70s references. Though it’s unlikely that the American company retro will forego its retro styling any time soon, Fall/Winter 2019 sees Coach utilizing punk nods to slightly upend tradition.

Along with the color-blocked fleece jackets and heavy-duty shearling that fans of the brand know and love, Coach delivered updated outerwear by way of mixed-material wool blazers, parkas and leopard print bomber jackets, with cozy hoodies and trim shirting providing the base layers. Nods to punk culture manifested by way of crucifix-shaped earrings, tartan patterns, slouchy beanies and leather creeper shoes, casually undercutting the sleek tailoring. Cat-eye glasses and branded faux-fur slippers bridged the generation gap, while patchwork leather cardigans highlighted Coach’s trademark craftsmanship.
