Meghan Markle looked sensational in her custom Givenchy dress, designed by Claire Waight Keller, when she married Prince Harry in May last year.
The former Suits actress stunned in an off-the-shoulder gown with a full train, and 3/4 sleeves for her special do, which took place at St. George’s chapel in Windsor Castle.
The stunning gown has proved to be the ultimate wedding dress, which has inspired a lot of brides over the year, and propelled the 48-year-old designer’s career even further.
However, designer Claire – who was awarded the Womenswear Designer of the Year at the Fashion Awards – was blown away by the reaction to her creation, which she thinks is partly due to social media.
Speaking to TIME magazine, the mogul said: ‘I had no idea how momentous it was going to be.
‘The last time there was a royal wedding, there was no Instagram, really, or any of those huge social networks. So it really took me aback, actually.’
Claire believes Meghan’s dress was the epitome of ‘purity’ and perfect for the Duchess of Sussex, who is due to give birth to her first child any day now.
She added: ‘The idea of that purity was just really modern. I think it was right for now, and it was right for her.’
