The Child’s Play revamp is only less than one month away from hitting the big screen. With that, Orion Pictures has just shared a new TV spot titled "Playtime" which shows the demonic doll going on a major killing spree around town.
Running in at 30-seconds, the new clip starts off with Andy (Gabriel Bateman) getting the Buddi doll from his mother (played by Aubrey Plaza). Soon Andy comes to realize there’s something wrong with Chucky, revealing playtime is over. The visuals then showcase Chucky as he terrorises the town and its inhabitants. Unlike the original where the doll was possessed by a serial killer, the revamp instead sees a defective Buddi doll whose programming code was hacked.
The cast will also include Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Carlease Burke. Mark Hamill, of Star Wars fame, will voice Chucky.
Directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) and penned by Tyler Burton Smith, who based it off of the 1988 film, look for the Child’s Play revamp to hit theaters June 21.
Child’s Play will be up against Pixar’s Toy Story 4, which also releases June 21. The witty marketing features Chucky taking aim at Andy’s other toys.
