Stephen A. Smith put together a spectacularly bad argument during Thursday’s First Take, getting almost every detail wrong while previewing the night’s Chiefs-Chargers game.
Smith called the Los Angeles Chargers “San Diego,” which can happen — the move to L.A. is still weird. But on top of that, Smith discussed Spencer Ware (who won’t be playing), Hunter Henry (who’s been out with an ACL injury all year) and Derrick Johnson (who started the season with Oakland before getting released).
The ESPN personality was all over the place, and as the internet roasted Smith, the Los Angeles Chargers got in on the fun.
The Chargers jokingly added former players LaDainian Tomlinson, Dan Fouts and Lance Alworth to their injury report.
Smith was clearly living in the past this morning, so why can’t the Chargers?
They should go all-in and move back to San Diego. That would really prove the point.
