Reese Witherspoon was seen enjoying a Los Angeles outing with her mother Betty over the weekend.

The Legally Blonde star teamed a flowing turtleneck with a powder pink knit beanie and a long chain necklace.

Reese, 42, tucked her charcoal sweats into a pair of casual sand-colored boots, holding her sunglasses in her hand and carrying a large handbag.

Meanwhile, her mother was dressed all in black except for a pair of purple aviator sunglasses and some grey Nike sneakers.

Reese’s parents, both doctors, separated in 1996 but remained legally married – resulting in court problems, ABC reported citing USA Today.

Betty sued John in 2012 claiming that his marriage to Tricianne Taylor, a woman 10 years his junior, constituted bigamy.

In her affidavit, Betty wrote: ‘When I confronted my husband, he said he didn’t know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married.’

Theorizing that he had dementia, Betty said John had had a drinking problem and shared: ‘I also fear for my husband’s personal safety and the safety of my family.’

A year ago, Betty told Woman’s Day New Zealand that John ‘‘has moved back in with me. I don’t have any lawsuit. I’m still married, we have been for 48 years.’

The mother of the Oscar-winning actress shared that ‘It’s been quite a while. I really don’t know when we got back together.’

Meanwhile, Reese is currently married to her second husband, talent agent Jim Toth, who is the father of her six-year-old son Tennessee.

She shares two children – Ava, 19, and Deacon, 15 – with her first husband Ryan Phillippe, her co-star in the teen drama Cruel Intentions.
