The Eagles’ playoff hopes stay alive one week after a loss in Dallas seemed to doom them. This week the Eagles have a chance to get back in the playoff race with a win against the Texans and some help from others (see playoff scenarios)
Now here is a look at where the Eagles landed in this week’s power rankings:
Tim McManus writes, “Wendall Smallwood has made the most his opportunity since injuries to the RB position.”
Smallwood average 4.8 carries and added two touchdowns against the talented Rams defensive line.
NFL.com: Moved up 3 spots to No. 15
Elliot Harrison writes, “They’re lurking.”
The Eagles’ playoff chances went up from 37 percent to 39 percent after the Panthers lost to the Saints. One simple way for the Birds to make the playoffs? Win two, and have the Vikings lose to the Lions or Bears.
CBS Sports: Moved up 2 spots to No. 15
Pete Prisco writes, “Nick Foles to the rescue again”
Nick Foles certainly did his part by not turning the ball over and reigniting the chemistry with Alshon Jeffery.
ProFootballTalk: Moved up 1 spot to No. 15
Mike Florio writes, “Break out the dog masks and grease up the light poles, Philly.”
It may be a little early for that, but Foles’ return reminds us of last year.
Sports Illustrated: Stayed at No. 12
The Eagles received 127 points in the poll as Jonathan Jones writes, “Who will Philly play at QB in the coming weeks?”
Foles will start Week 16, but Doug Pederson wouldn’t announce who will start the season finale.
