The youngster has seen his game time increase due to injuries suffered by Lakers veterans LeBron James and Rajon Rondo.
And he is set to start tonight as the Lakers play the Oklahoma City Thunder for the first time this season.
Ball missed all four games between the two teams last season.
But he will look to improve on his recent impressive record at the Staples Center tonight.
He will have tough opposition, however, as Westbrook is currently in the form of his life.
The guard is averaging a triple-double, with 21 points-per-game, ten rebounds and 10.1 assists.
And earlier this week he warmed up for the Lakers game by dropping 32 points against the Dallas Mavericks on New Years Day.
After the game, he claimed that he believes he is essentially the best player in the league.
And that is an opinion shared by Ball.
Speaking before the game, the 21-year-old Lakers star heaped praise on Westbrook.
“He’s one of the best players in the league,” he said.
“It’s going to be a good challenge.
“[I am] Just going to play as hard as I can
“He’s a great player.
“He’s going to try to help his team win, I’m going to try to help my team.”
The Lakers are still missing James and Rondo, as the pair continue to recover from their injuries.
