The line “Kelly got a house, big house on the hill” is more than a lyric from the former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland’s latest single.
It happened in front of cameras.
Rowland found her new house during the taping of season 11 of Bravo Media’s “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,” a high-stakes real estate series that follows powerhouse agents like The Agency’s British duo David Parnes and James Harris as they navigate big deals on multi-million dollar homes.
The series also stars Josh Flagg, Josh Altman and Tracy Tutor who go to great lengths to close multi-million deals for some of the biggest names in showbiz.
“Everybody likes to see insane real estate,” Parnes said. “So it’s a good mix of real estate and a bit of drama.”
In the new season, Parnes and Harris work on deals to purchase the Playboy “Bunny Ranch” – where Hugh Hefner housed his favorite playmates – and the so-called “Mommie Dearest” house, former home to Joan Crawford.
They take on deals for celebrity clients like Rowland as well as Dorit Kemsley from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Harris said Rowland and Kemsley “are clients that love the show and love being on the show.”
But with the cameras following the agents around for about 11 months of the year, it’s not always going to be business.
“What’s good about this season – besides the fact that I got married last year and now we have an incredible baby – is my brother is also on the show,” Parnes said.
A couple of seasons ago, he traveled back to London after his brother’s diagnosis with a brain tumor.
“He had his health issues a couple of seasons ago, so it’s nice to see his update,” Parnes said. “And what’s also nice is the fact that he’s a client this season as well.”
