The claws are sharpened and ready for the debut of Matthew Wilkas and Mark Setlock’s Born to Win, a story about parents and their insatiable desire to see their kids succeed in the child pageant world.
Wilkas (Gayby) is set to play Bob/Gunner, with comedian Drew Droege (Die, Mommie, Die!) as Bobby/Buddy. Also appearing are Julanne Chidi Hill (Weeds) as Pinky and Daiva Duepree (Naked Radio) as Marge/Pinky’s Mother.
Michael Matthews will helm the production, while Janet Roston will create the choreography.
This is Wilkas and Setlock’s second collaboration. They co-authored Pageant Play, which was performed at the Berkshire Theatre Festival in 2008.
Born to Win begins February 15 and runs through March 31. Tickets can be purchased online at CelebrationTheatre.com.
