The Los Angeles Rams enter Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers needing to win to remain the second seed in the NFC. Here’s 4 predictions for the game with their division rivals.
After 15 games and 16 weeks, the Los Angeles Rams enter their home finale against the San Francisco 49ers with the second seed in the NFC still in doubt. With the Chicago Bears only a game back and a tie breaker via their Week 14 win, LA needs to beat the Niners to have a first round bye.
For fans who choose to thing a 4-11 team can’t take LA for a ride, think again.
The Niners are 2-2 in December having beaten both the Denver Broncos and then the Seattle Seahawks in overtime, and were competitive in Week 16 against the Bears losing 14-9. For the record, since returning to Los Angeles the Rams are only 2-3 against their Northern California division rival.
Numbers aside, it’s absolutely reasonable to believe LA has all the advantage in Week 17. They have bonafides in Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, In receivers, with Aaron Donald, and at head coach in Sean McVay.
Simply put, the Rams are just better top to bottom. Then again, that same argument is also made against Chicago, and the Philadelphia Eagles, two games Los Angeles lost in recent weeks.
Week 17 has a lot to play for, and with the Bears and Minnesota Vikings also playing in the afternoon window, expert McVay to go all-out to make sure the Rams get an extra week of rest.
