A week removed from taking the Baltimore Ravens apart in Baltimore, the Los Angeles Chargers are once again road underdogs as they face off against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Foxboro. The Chargers have not beat the Patriots since 2008, have not beat them at home since 2005, and have not beat them in the playoffs since 1964. Still, today is a new day and Anthony Lynn’s Chargers were not supposed to win last week either.
Philip Rivers has performed at an MVP level this season. Melvin Gordon finally had the breakout year Chargers fans had been waiting for. Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa headline one of the NFL’s best defenses. The Patriots are still the Patriots, but they are not the juggernaut they once were. Everything is lining up for the Chargers to have a real chance to steal a victory at Gillette Stadium today.
The Chargers still undefeated in games played outside of Los Angeles this season, so hopefully that trend can continue today.
