Long Beach has seen a growing number of development projects proposed for downtown in recent months, including a giant mixed-use tower the city is working on with Trammell Crow.
The latest is a 157-unit mixed-use complex that Anastasi Development Company is proposing. On Thursday, the city will take up the seven-story project, set for 507 Pacific Avenue, according to the Long Beach Post.
Redondo Beach-based Anastasi is calling for 9,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space at the one-acre site. It would also have 209 parking spaces with some electric car charging spaces, along with a 10,000-square-foot roof deck.
There would also be a recreation room and gym. Two-thirds of the units would be two-bedrooms, with mos of the rest one-bedroom units.
The site sits on the corner of East 6th Street and was once home to the Neighborhood United Methodist Church. The church sold it to Anastasi in early 2017 for $5 million. It’s about a quarter mile from the Metro Blue Line’s 6th Street Station.
The site isn’t far from where Long Beach wants to develop a 700-unit mixed-use tower on a parking lot at 600 Broadway Boulevard. Trammell Crow is working with the city. Trammell Crow is also partnered with Los Angeles County on a big Koreatown office tower.
