You heard it correctly: Emma Stone has apologized for “Aloha.”
During the opening monologue for the 76th Golden Globes on Sunday, host Sandra Oh joked that “Crazy Rich Asians” was the first Hollywood studio film with an Asian American lead since “Ghost in the Shell” and “Aloha.”
An audible “I’m sorry” was shouted from the audience during the telecast. Stone, who was cast in “Aloha” as a part-Asian character, confirmed to The Times afterward that she was the one who yelled out the apology.
