Blog: El Segundo’s Newest Dinnertime Player Serves Pizza and Hyper-Local Craft Beer

There’s a new name in El Segundo’s dining landscape, as the folks behind seminal beer spot El Segundo Brewing have slowly started to open the doors to their newest project: The Slice and Pint. As the name suggests, the newcomer is lasering in on all things pizza and craft beer.

The Slice and Pint start doing some limited service evenings over the weekend for fans who had offered to show up and give feedback on their pies. Now they’re going wide with a more public opening on Thursday, keeping dinner hours only to start, beginning at 5 p.m.

The Grand Avenue space has been pulled back to the bricks, with brushed cement floors and basic reclaimed wood picnic tables. The main feature is sure to be the tap system, pouring pints from the nearby brewery like their popular Citra pale ale and IPAs.

Pizzas and other food comes by way of chef Matt Ranney, who worked for years at the Village Idiot on Melrose. Expect hand-tossed as well as pan pizzas, plus options like salads and meatballs to boot. Look for dinner service at the Slice and Pint only to start.
